Paul Smith’s College to host workshop for North Country veterans
Paul Smith’s College will host its annual Veterans Resource Workshop, an expert-led clinic focused on helping U.S. veterans start a business, obtain loans, utilize veteran benefits and more.
The free workshop, open to all North Country veterans (as well as friends or family) will take place Wednesday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Joan Weill Student Center Pine Room.
The workshop is made possible by SCORE, a nonprofit that assists in small business start-ups, Paul Smith’s College and North Country Community College. It’s also received support from Rep. Elise Stefanik, one of several individuals whose name will appear on attendees’ certificates.
“I am pleased that Paul Smith’s College is holding the Veterans Resource Workshop again this year and commend the organizers of this important event,” said Rep. Stefanik. “Our district is home to more veterans than any district in New York, and this workshop is an incredible opportunity for those who have questions about their benefits, investment opportunities, and the resources that are available to them. Members of my staff will be in attendance as well to discuss the services my office provides to our local veterans.”
Other important aspects of getting a small business off the ground, such as financing, marketing and managing investments, will also be discussed.
A light meal will also be provided by NBT Bank.
Preregistration is suggested but not required. To do so, please contact Amy Tuthill, director of veteran and enrollment services, at (518) 327-6862 or atuthill@paulsmiths.edu
