Paul Smith’s College Expands Partnership with U.S. Biathlon as Official Higher Educational Partner
Paul Smith’s, NY— Paul Smith’s College and U.S. Biathlon today announced that they have expanded their partnership. Last year U.S. Biathlon designated Paul Smith’s College the Official Higher Education Partner for the Olympic sport federation. Biathlon’s national governing body, based in New Gloucester, Maine, competes domestically, as well as internationally in the World Cup, World Championships and Olympic Winter Games.
Some of the notable enhancements of this partnership include internship opportunities for graduates and undergraduates, participation by U.S. Biathlon on special class projects and members of the staff will serve as guest speakers. In addition, Paul Smith’s College will receive increased public marketing exposure at national and international competition and events; the College will receive placement of its logo on US Biathlon’s competitive apparel; and a number of social media integrations.
“Paul Smith’s has been a great partner for US Biathlon and we are excited to extend our relationship with an education institution of this caliber that is so committed to student athletes, the outdoors and biathlon,” said Jack Gierhart, US Biathlon’s Interim CEO. “We are looking forward to working with Paul Smith’s to build on the recent success of its athletes and impressive progress of its program, and expand our engagement with the community across the entire college experience.”
This is the second such partnership that the school has arranged with a U.S. national governing body. In October of 2021, USA Nordic named Paul Smith’s College its Official Education Partner. In addition, the Paul Smith’s has partnered with the Olympic Regional Development Authority.
“I am proud to continue our deep and impactful relationship with U.S. Biathlon,” said Paul Smith’s Interim College President Dan Kelting. “Our mission is to show the world the beauty of the Adirondacks and how truly unique our community is. Biathlon is a marquee outdoor sport that fits perfectly with our facilities and mission, and we look forward to the next step in this partnership and offering hands-on educational opportunities to all those who attend Paul Smith’s.”
