For the past three years HSMAI, the hospitality club, has held an Anti-Valentine’s Day Bake Sale on campus to raise funds for HSMAI and to spread awareness about the club. The Anti-Valentine’s Day idea started with a group of hospitality students who wanted to start a non-traditional Valentine’s Day fundraiser that would attract the attention of students and employees at PSC. So, instead of creating a love-focused fundraiser, HSMAI went the opposite route! Now, each year, hospitality students get together before Valentine’s Day to bake the cupcakes for the event that spreads the love from our program to yours. This year, we even recruited a talented baking friend, Tristan Smith, to make the beautifully designed Anti-Valentine’s Day cupcakes! We hope that you had a chance to stop by the bake sale last week; if not- please keep an eye out for the Anti-Valentine’s Day Bake Sale next year!
My name is Sarah Dowling and I am a senior in the Hotel, Resort, and Tourism Management Program. I began my journey at Paul Smith’s in 2014 when I transferred from a small community college near my hometown of Red Hook, New York. Being a part of different clubs on campus, such as the Women’s Soccer Team and HSMAI, has created a lot of friendships and opportunities for me as a student. I look forward to the rest of my journey here at Paul Smith’s and I can’t wait to see what life brings me after graduation.
