Blue Skies and Black Flies is the Apollos’ version of “Cheers and Jeers”, heard of it? We take a moment to cheer the things that make this campus great, and a moment to jeer the less-than-stellar. Blue Skies, good. Black Flies, not-so-much. We welcome compliments, complaints, rants and raves of all things PSC.

Blue Skies!
Cheers to the other night’s sunset pilgrimage. All business took pause, the whir of motion stopped on campus, a breathtaking sunset stopped students in their tracks. It drew them from the library, their studies or dinner, and beckoned them to just be still and breathe together. A flock of Smitties migrated across the great lawn to take in the environment’s majesty. An homage to the simplicity that brought us all together to share the present moment, or just a shameless sunset pic for the gram. I don’t know if I am cheering the people or the sunset…
Black Flies…
The person stealing bumper stickers. After Columbus Day weekend, an abundance of on-campus students approached their vehicles only to discover empty dust-lined squares and circles where their bumper magnets used to be. From quotes, to sports teams, organizations and more, these magnets were nowhere to be found. Cars in Saratoga, Hillside, and LMS parking lots were the bulk of the victims. A Black Fly to the person who stole them. We are still on the look for our magnets.
Blue Skies!
I want to give a Blue Sky to the new and improved Sodexo. They’ve gone from production-oriented to people-oriented in two weeks. The variety of options, the napkin board, and the earnest care; the dining hall is on top of its game. To all the staff who work hard every day to make the meals of hundreds feel that much more like home, lest it go unrecognized, thank you for providing fantastic food!
