Spuddy Love

They grew together underground
From tiny spuds– to large around
He loved her and she loved him
But all the sudden on a whim
They were plucked from dirt to see the sky
With teary eyes, they said goodbye.

So cruel is Fate to tear apart–
And leave two tubers broken hearts
Until Fate put them in a cart
Rolling round a grocery mart!
The tears came back and how they smiled!
As they walked on down the Aisle.

I am in the Humble Spud, and one assignment was to write some potato poetry.
