My name is Nicholas Stevens, and  I caught this rainbow trout on January 16th this year. I was on Lake Colby for several hours that day and had caught no fish to show for it, until around 2:30p.m. when I dropped my jig down a hole another fisherman had made earlier that day. I danced my jig up off the bottom about five feet and then let it fall on the way back down. I felt that exciting and familiar tug, the one I had been waiting for all day. It was the first trout I ever caught through the ice, and  a day I’ll never forget.
